Are you suffering from depression or anxiety?
Do you feel alone and not sure how to move forward in your life?
Are you in a marriage or relationship that seems to be falling apart?
If you are feeling alone in your anxiety, depression, or relationship, you have come to the right place. Through counseling sessions, we will work together to understand some of the complexities of your life and situation. We will also develop goals and a road map that enables you to see a way forward. I use a systematic and evidenced based approach to change. This helps you improve your communication skills & understanding of relationships. I help you build the tools you need to move toward a brighter future.
My passion for serving others has been lifelong. I have had the privilege of being able to integrate this passion into both my professional and personal life.
My work in campus mental health has offered me the opportunity to help college students for over 10 years. As a result, I understand the college student’s experience better than most private practice counselors. In fact, I am currently the director of Counseling Services at Xavier University.
Meanwhile, my private practice provides me the opportunity to work with people from varied backgrounds. I also have a passion for working with couples in all stages of relationships. Therefore, I see a lot of couples in my private practice. As a couples & marriage therapist, I enjoy working with a wide variety of couples. For instance, I may see a couple who recently started dating, an engaged couple looking for pre-marital counseling so they can enter marriage strong or a married couple going through a rough patch. Regardless of where you are in your relationship journey, I can help.
Counseling Specialties
I have counseling experience with a variety of mental health issues. In my counseling office, I help adults from college age through retirement with a variety of mental health concerns. While I work with individuals who have a variety of concerns about their mental health or relationships, some of my counseling specialties include:
- Depression Counseling
- Anxiety Treatment
- Life Transitions/Searching for Direction
- Couples & Marriage Counseling
- Pre-Marital Counseling
- Faith Exploration
- College Students
- Career Counseling
However, I enjoy helping people from all walks of life with a variety of concerns. Therefore, if you are looking for help with something not on this list, please feel free to reach out and ask about my experience with your issue.

My Approach to Counseling
First it’s important to note that every single individual or couple’s counseling experience is a little different and I will base your treatment plan on your unique needs. In general, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques in counseling sessions. CBT will help you identify the source of your problems. After identifying the core beliefs holding you back, you can change the way you relate to the world around you. Additionally, I use mindfulness techniques in my counseling sessions. Mindfulness allows you to go through life more present in this moment. Furthermore, I offer a very effective form of couples & marriage counseling called Cognitive Interpersonal Therapy (CIT) in my counseling practice and am passionate about helping couples strengthen their relationship.
